I’ve now gotten down an automatic importer to import my Youtube contents onto this website. Now its going to have a solid amount of content automatically pulled in from Youtube. I’m not automatically downloading the videos to here or anything; I’m just pulling the video details off of the Youtube API and then automating all new playlists.
The current structure is that the right sidebar will contain the latest videos, and the playlists below will contain the 3 most recently updated playlists.
The next steps after this are to implement proper filtering on this website. I will need to do a lot of manual sorting by assigning meta data and taxonomies to all my playlists manually. Right now, I have right sidebar filters from the older version of this website, and those articles are present in my archives, but now we need to be associating them properly with everything I’ve played over the years.
Another thing I want to do is pull in all my community posts from Youtube. Then going forward I’ll be dropping articles on this website as links as Community Posts instead of doing full posts over there. I’m still trying to figure out a quick way to grab all my Community Posts, but I can’t automate it over the API.
In other news, this upcoming week is going to be pretty big for games with a new State of Play and Summer Games Fest at the end of the week. I suspect next we’ll we’ll be seeing a Nintendo Direct, but we’ll see…
