I was unable to livestream the State of Play, so I went ahead and collected all my thoughts during the livestream. I decided to play this out in a review format for fun.
With these presentation reactions / reviews, I’ll provide a list of leaks online that we’re anticipating that could be revealed for this presentation. If a leak is revealed in a presentation, they’ll be left out of future presentation reviews.
The review is based on how interesting and varied I think the presentation was. Your mileage may vary.
Leaks in Advance of the Events:

- Rumor: Sly Cooper returns?
- Leak: Rayman Legends Untold
- Leak: Rayman Origins Enhanced
- Leak: Yooka-Laylee Kart
- Heavily speculated: Final Fantasy VII R3 (Cloud was teased by Sony?)
- Heavily speculated: MAYBE finally KH4?
State of Play 2026
I’m going to highlight each of the games that I noticed and want to actually talk about, then we’ll do an overview of the full list with any dates listed and other minor notes.
Wolverine – Insomniac Games

The event starts off with Wolverine from Insomniac Games. Seems to involve Logan saving kidnapped mutants from a group called The Reavers. It included real time gameplay, which is good, I hate CGI-primary trailers all the time. Graphics look good, but too realistic for my liking.
Jean Gray showed up and honestly I didn’t even recognize her as Jean Grey. I thought she was the Scarlet Witch, especially with her powers just straight up looking like Scarlet Witch. Also her design is trash in this game.
Naturally, the game is extremely gory. It takes me out of it personally. They spent a whole 10 minutes on Wolverine alone. The game is releasing September 15th, so not a bad release date.
Overall Wolverine looks good for the people who will like this kind of game. I’m not personally all that interested, though.
Marvel Tokon – Arc System Works

Only thing I really noticed here is that we got Doctor Doom and the Green Goblin. I’m not all that into fighting games, but I admit, I do love the art style of this game.
The game launches on August 6th, 2026. I didn’t realize the game wasn’t released yet. For some reason I thought this was Marvel Rivals, but no, its a different game entirely.
Okay, so what I missed is that this actually announced Green Goblin, Magneto, and Carnage. Doctor Doom was already announced. Interesting how two of these characters are Spiderman villains. Though maybe Venom is already in? Venom sometimes falls more into the “anti-hero” route with Carnage being Venom’s primary antagonist in that case.
Rayman Legends Retold – Ubisoft

This game had been teased/leaked years ago. For some reason I thought it was called Rayman Legends _Untold_. I thought it might have been a pseudo sequel, but no, its just a remake of Rayman Legends with fully 3D graphics.
Personally I thought the game looked REALLY good. However, I have seen others complaining that the game looks worse than the original. Maybe I missed something, I don’t know.
The game releases October 1st. If you purchase it you also get a free copy of Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition. I’m not sure if its just a physical copy or its free with every copy.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Graphics look really nice. Its a Tomb Raider game. Lara still looks great, quite surprising considering what usually happens nowadays.
I never played the old Tomb Raider games myself, but I do think this is a nice looking remake.
God of War Laufey – Santa Monica Studios

I’m not into the God of War games much myself, but I have read a lot about them. I was well aware that Faye in God of War 2018 was actually Laufey, aka the mother of Loki. This “Faye” God of War game had been leaked for quite some time already.
I’m going to come right out and say it, I don’t really like the look of this game much. And I don’t understand why it was made. In general, the game’s concept COULD have been good. Its allegedly in the “afterlife of the Gods”, because Laufey is technically a God due to being a giant.
I guess its plausible, there’s mixed Norse Mythology lore on that. I was always under the impression the Jotuns were considered a different type of God, though. This is especially since Loki is always considered a God despite being a Jotun.
What kills this game for me is the world design doesn’t look like an “afterlife of the Gods” at all. It just looks like another generic fantasy world. The trailer wasn’t too bad until we got to the talking cube and ribbon. That whole section was just awful and made me not care about the rest of the trailer in the slightest.
I will also bring up the character design as well. An Immortal God/Jotun should look better than this. Some people won’t like that kind of reaction but that’s simply the truth. She looks like a generic middle aged human mom, not a God. Her design isn’t as bad as it could be, but it SHOULD be so much better.
Summary
Here’s the complete full list of games that were shown off that I noticed and wrote down.
- Wolverine – Insomniac Games – September 15th, 2026
- Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls – Arc System Works – August 7th, 2026
- Rayman Legends Retold – Ubisoft – October 1st, 2026
- Bancho the Chef – Mintrocket
- Honestly I thought this looked like Yakuza…
- Looking it up online, this is a prequel to Dave the Diver? Yeah I never realized that in the presentation at all.
- Kemuri – Unseen Inc. – 2027
- I almost completed missed this one. I liked the art style a lot.
- Looking it up again, I don’t really know what’s going on, and I can’t say I’m all that interested in it after all.
- Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis – Crystal Dynamics / Amazon – February 12th, 2027
- The Lost Wild – Great Ape Studios – 2027
- Looked like a Jurassic Park style game with all the talking about dinosaurs and roaming with dinosaurs. Turns out, though, its a different franchise entirely just in a similar concept.
- Phantom Blade – S-Game – October 29th, 2025
- Looked like a medieval Knight style game in a Soulsborne style. I couldn’t really tell anything else about it, though. Later it was a bit clearer it was more of a Japanese setting, but maybe still a medieval Japan setting?
- Dune Awakening – Funcom – September 22, 2026
- I though I had seen this game before. Its an open world survival, but is adding in a brand new single player.
- After doing some research online, this game released in Early Access on PC last year. The console release is September 22. However, that may be where the single player campaign is coming into play?
- Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered – Koei Tecmo – October 1st, 2026
- No Rest for the Wicked – Moon Studios – October
- Its an action RPG from Moon Studios, creators of Ori. I think this game is out already?
- Apparently its currently in Early Access. This was for the full 1.0 release which also includes crossplay and offline modes. Seems like this update is dropping in October.
- Onimusha: Way of the Sword – Capcom – September 25
- I could tell right away it was Onimusha. I remember seeing a cousin playing Onimusha 3 in the past I think. I don’t no much about the story overall, but even back then the games reminded me of what is now called Soulsborne style games.
- Silent Hill – Capcom –
- I have no idea what’s happening?! Clearly a horror game I think? Oh, its Silent Hill.
- More uber realistic slop. I don’t like that word “slop” but “uber realistic” is just everything nowadays.
- Control Resonant
- Death Stranding again? No, its sarus I think… Nevermind, Control Resonant…
- Marathon Season 2
- Runescape Dragonwilds coming to Playstation Plus.
- I had no idea this was even a thing. I used to love Runescape back in the day, but IDK how I feel about this one.
- Until Dawn 2 – Firesprite – 2027
- God of War Laufey – Santa Monica Studios
