The latest game in the epic fighting/party/platforming Nintendo character clash is almost here! For the first time, Smash Bros. will be released on a handheld console, the 3DS, available first in Japan next month–September–with the western release coming in October. The game will have the same character roster as Smash Bros. Wii U, but with different modes and stages, including the brand new mode Smash Run.
The 3DS game will have a few unique features not available on the Wii U, such as the ability for special affects to work on just your screen and not others. Smash Run is one example, as its a very large map and you can be sent to any part of the map to fight in.

I’m not nearly as interested in Smash 3DS as in the Wii U version, but I will chat about it sometimes.
